1981 quarter date question

    I found this 1981 quarter, which seems to have a 1 or line between 19 & 81. And the bottom half of the date seems to have been pressed down. Thanks

    It's damaged. Ground down somehow. Strange looking, I'll grant you that. But damage, not an error.

    I agree PMD ( Post Mint Damage) you can see the edge of the coin where it's been damaged. IMO
