I'm making a slight return here because this has me wondering what this is and how it may have happened. This is raised on the field with that slot. Any ideas?
My best answer would be, even though the edges are raised, that the slot indicates it was hit with something hard enough to displace and raise the metal. Had the slot not been there I would have said a possible die chip. JMHO.
