Yep, if you can't get it passed by the normal official channels (It failed four times) just wait until you are three months late with the spending bill and dump all your pet projects and/or pork there because its a bill that the President HAS to sign.

By the way if you root around in there some more you'll find where they tossed in language to move IGWT to the obverse of the dollars. Not all the inscriptions, just IGWT.

The President signed the bill into law and the territiries will get their quarters in 2009.
The 2009 mint and proof sets are gonna be huge.

you know, I was under the impression that this was a STATEHOOD quarter program, not a statehood/possession program... ugh

2009 commems are probably just a device to postpone any decision about the return of the Washignton Quarter until the next Secretary of the Treasury is appointed.

The statehood quarter program ends with the coins of 2008.
This is a totally seperate program and the bill makes no referance or connection to the statehood program.
As for the designs, I'm sure it would be much easier for the mint to come up with one design rather than 6.
Its a better situation to have these quarter follow the states rather than bounce back and forth.

That was predictable. We all know that the earth would stop rotating and leave its orbit around the sun if IGWT wasn't on the obverse of all coins.

Now that the mint is adding on to the state quarters, How are all the album makers going to handle this?

I had the same question. With the looseleaf albums (like Dansco) it could be accomplished by adding a page to each album. I have the #7143 albums for P&D from 1999-2008. They have 5 pages, but they look like they could accomodate one more page. The Dansco #8143 and #8144 (P,D,S,S) albums are the same size and also have 5 pages so I suppose you could do the same with them.

it doesnt apply its a separate program

It's possible that they will make separate albums just for the 6 territorial state quarters. I have one album (the SBA dollars) that has only 2 pages.

Your correct. It is a separate program but I'm sure Dansco will make these pages with a "Territory" title and you can stick them where ever you like. In the back of the state albumn, in with the Washington series or in its own Albumn. They will be made because they will sell.

I got an e-mail from the mint yesterday, that they are coming out with a six-pack of quarters in 2009 that will have DC, PR and the other terr.

If I'm thinking right the Dansco pages held 20 coins. They probably need to make a page with 24 so folks can stick it at the back of the album they have. They will probably make a special album with only 2 pages but that will leave a lot of blank space around the coins. I'm sure Dansco likes all the changes. More to sell.:)

For the uncirculated P&D albums, one additional page would be enough, but if you have a P,D,S,S album, that would require 2 additional pages. You won't able able to add them to a regular quarter album because all the Dansco quarter albums are 7/8" binders. They're supposed to max out at 5 pages; you could probably squeeze in one more, but not 2. Perhaps, they'll come out with new larger binders so you can switch the pages from one to another, but I don't think they sell labeled binders without the pages.

A single page with 24 holes would probably work.

All the albums I purchased back at the start of the program for gifts etc. were P&D only. So what I need is a 12 hole page.
