I don’t know what there is for him to “understand.” He knows exactly what he’s doing.

Garlicus Debt is dumb, cash is king.

I think that Planman's account may have been accidentally deleted, thus the "oops". Mistakes happen ;)

I agree with you that immoral actions should be challenged, but generally with what I perceive as a virtually majorily complete failure of morality, it's difficult to establish the bounds. He hasn't found the limits/bounds of legality/criminality.

As a lawyer/partner of mine once proclaimed to me when I verbally reprimanded: "We walk on a fine wire through life, if you haven't been pushed off to one side or another, your steps are legal". TRY TO GET A JURIST DISBARRED! MISSION IMPOSSIBLE?!!

PLANMAN2014 and I have had several discussions today, and my last summation was:

"I've taken the time and patience to again answer questions which have little to do with postal fraud perpetrated upon me. Only statements that can be proven as being false, from you, are considered in a trial, believed many! Virtually none of what we're discussing would even be considered. If statements by you can't be proven illegal, it can't be admitted.

I truly believe: "I don't understand". I'm certain you aren't naive, as it's reported you've perpetrated some clever "scams". I've received criticism for stating your ignorance as: "he just doesn't understand", telling critics if there are lawless (not distasteful) actions, join me."

I've spent many hours explaining why others are critical of him, then he'll cite similarity by "prominent". Unless society improves, it will be difficult unless all criminality is penalized.

I believe he has nothing to lose except a little freedom?, which is unlikely, but I've explained the uncomfortable process.

A drunk woman without legal driving documents, and a long record, recently drove through a stop sign killing 2 people and was given 10 days. I'm not optimistic!

Each individual and each organization is responsible for their behavior. This has absolutely nothing to do with drunk drivers, unethical insurance companies or auction sites that may employ questionable practices.

“Comparative actions” — for lack of a better term — ARE exactly how someone like Planman justifies and rationalizes his modus operandi — “It’s not as bad as” or “What about...”

The sort of excuse-making that can be heard day and night in your favorite penitentiary.

First, I'm with you in regards to lax punishments given today, especially when identity politics come into play, but just to be clear you're suggesting that this clown really doesn't understand what he's doing is wrong? I mean seriously?

Just because someone isn't charged or punished for their actions this doesn't mean them morally acceptable, legal, or remotely right. Sorry, but Dan Carr excuses simply do not cut it, at least among the intellectually honest. If some guy hawking smack sells to a willing buyer both are still committing crimes and can be charged accordingly, but this guy thinks selling what does not belong to him is kosher simply because he hasn't paid the price yet? It seems someone may have expanded the types of games he so enjoys playing.

As a token homeless white boy raised in a crime-ridden https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Rondo_Neighborhood, spending my formative years attending an all female educator parochial school at the behest of others, you probably can understand how I'm in total agreement with your thoughts. We weren't taught religion, just the "Golden Rule" (i.e. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Matthew_7:12)

I believe in Karma, and know PLANMAN2014 probably wouldn't have survived long in "my neighborhood". I was the "straight kid" who didn't see most "associates" live through adolescence. I was "blessed"!!

In the area of Texas I grew up in, somebody like the subject of this thread probably would have simply vanished one night. And the town folks, cops included, wouldn’t have given it much of a thought at all.

Crooks often project or bring up the offenses of the other guy. Talk is cheap and crooks and con men will often wrap up rubes in talking forever or making promises of this and that while they ride off into the sunset. Having worked in loss prevention many years I've heard more tales or promises than one could believe; but very few apologies and actual follow through on volunteer restitution.

What I have trouble understanding is when planman2014 was called out by some members for taking monies and sending nothing in return he made good on the transaction by refunding monies although it took many months to complete. Member @imrich has spoke to him several times this weekend so he doesn't appear to be hiding. Is his scam to take money and then try to acquire the coins to complete the original transaction? If he was just stealing he'd disappear and not communicate or refund any money. Hard to figure out his game plan.

PLANMAN2014 has sent me a response to my summation which I posted on this site in post #63, he states:
"Again I have no idea what you are talking about. What is your address? I want this over."

As with another individual, with whom I've communicated, if he completes his contracted obligation and I haven't initiated an action, he hasn't violated a law. I may not have liked the process of "dealing" with him, anymore than the frustration of this venue refusing to answer a PM submitted question about the illegal transaction, and deleting? my communications with him, but "we all make mistakes".

I "Pro Bono" assist elderly with short/long term "memory loss" and understandings. This process has been similar!! I'm not qualified to clinically state a condition, but I've seen similar in other relatively young individuals when I worked in a hospital "psyche ward" as a 2nd night job.

"There but for the grace of GOD go I", paraphrased: "let he without sin cast the first stone" were a few of many thoughts taught to me by some wonderful female educators/nuns in my formative years. Please pardon my "babble", and possible guilt of improper statements.

    Time will tell!

    John Skelton Morgan man!

Having read through all this, I'm glad I have no intention of dealing with individuals on EBay or anyone else online. My concern, however, is going to my LCS and worrying that maybe the owner has been a victim of one of these scammers. But I suppose being knowledgeable about what I buy prevents me from being the victim, too.

Kara, I'm not sure what you intended with this post. If you want advice or something, you should start a new thread. This is an old thread dealing with a former (we hope) problem CT member.
