Very new to this. They seem very nice and was wondering if they would be worth grading? Please and thank you. View attachment 796580 View attachment 796581
It almost never is. It either has to be rare or unusual and needs authentication, or very valuable. A well conditioned 1928 might warrant grading.
Good work asking this exact question before acting on anything. Most new to the hobby see graded coins and think that's what they're supposed to do with their raw coins. The reality is an extremely high percentage of coins have no business being graded. That's from a financial standpoint anyways as it's not worth the money. There are other reasons to have them certified if losing money isn't a worry. Until you're really good, if you want a coin in a certain grade level just buy one already graded there. Or buy raw coins from a reputable dealer with the intent to just keep them raw. Buying coins raw and trying to get them graded and come out ahead is a fool's errand for all but very experienced folks.
