Sent in for regrade. Think they have a chance of upgrading?

I used to play this game a lot, but haven't in nearly 2 years after wasting so much money. Maybe these two are a waste as well, but they take nice jumps in price in XF40. They didn't get much interest after 2 weeks on eBay, so I sent them for regrade.

Realistically, I think the draped bust has the best chance if they take the die state/strike into consideration. What do ya think?

You prefer regrade over reconsideration?

I just sent in 4 for reconsideration because 3 had a CAC sticker on them which I didn't want to lose unless it upgraded. I'm regretting not doing the non-CAC one as a regrade instead though because I sent it in because I think it deserves PL and they're not going to award that unless they have it raw.

Only reason I sent the 4 in is my account subscription auto-renewed and I figured I'd use up the vouchers on 4 coins that adding a + to would be extremely valuable for. I too hate the crackout/crossover/reconsideration/fill in the blank game with a passion.

 

I think the Draped bust looks more like the XF40 on pgotograde than it does like the 35. Also, the doubling on the obverse T is awesome!

 

On the 1807, I'd say go for it! On the 1806, I fear that the excessive wear on the left wing of the eagle might be what's preventing it from reaching XF.

 

I am 100% in agreement with @Mark Metzger. Of the two, I believe the dollar deserves another look. The reward would certainly merit the gamble.

 

I think the prob is, they both have better reverses.
If they are both 35 obv and 40 rev, they are going to grade VF35.

edit: love that die crack from the date to the left stars. Was looking at one with that, though a lower F grade.

Yeah, well... between the price increases and the fact that I'm into them for not a lot, it is worth a shot. We will see. Should know in a few weeks.
