Looking for opinions on value as to have graded or not.. This post includes 1881s, 1898, and 1896 with good luster, IMO.
Figure that it can cost up to $100/coin to have a coin graded...do you think you can get your money back?
Does it actually cost 100 dollars to get a coin graded (genuine question). I've seen some very cheap coins in slabs, wonder what their thought process was...
Depending on the coin value, single submissions along with mailing costs can come to this. Large companies who send in rolls and rolls of coins fresh from the us mint hoping for MS70's pay much less and try and cut their costs by selling the MS69's and less for low prices.
Someone like the OP didn't know what their coins were worth so they sent them in to be graded. That was the thought process. By posting on here, you can get several opinions and even get your coins graded for free! Very common dates in AU, worth less than $30 each.
