    On the edge photos, notice how the copper core
    is NOT dead-center - on a clip like this, the copper
    core/band is always closer to the obv. or reverse
    side of the coin, due to the Gang Punch punching
    thru the clad strip - that motion of the punching
    tool compresses (if that's the right word) the outer
    clad layer down, (in the inside of the clip).

    You can see the exact same phenomena on ALL
    Missing Edge Lettering Dollars - on the smooth
    edge, the copper band is always closer to one
    side of the coin than the other, due to the punching
    process.

    If you ever see a MEL dollar, for example, with the
    center copper core exactly in the middle of the edge/side
    of the coin, it' been buffed.
