I get your point and I agree a lot of their questions can be answered by simply doing very little research themselves.

I guess what I am try to say is if anyone thinks a new member is asking a stupid question, then don't bother replying at all.

Yes Mont. I've run out of my snark and sarcasm allotment for the year (plus I think I broke my snarker!). Anymore, I really have to get worked up in order to reply to those threads.

Actually, the stupidest question is the one that's never asked.........

Two of the biggest fallacies of all time. IMHO.

Wow is that one of your pics @CoinCorgi? If so what camera are you using and what settings? I have tried to get a shot like that many times but it always comes out too blurry.

    John Skelton Morgan man!

This is the only coin forum that I came across, and it's still the only one I know of, so my experience in these things are limited. However, I have learned so much here that I see no reason to go anywhere else. Before finding this site had gotten a few books (the Red Book, a book on error coins, and the one no one here likes Strike It Rich in Pocket Change, and others), so I knew a little.

And I came here with an open mind. That means you don't think you know what you don't know. So for me, I consider that someone who wants to learn about coins, this is the best place to learn.

Now, I have yet to post a picture of one of my coins and ask about it, so my mileage may vary. I'm thinking I may be better off posting a picture of my dog. First, though, I'd have to get one!

Yes I took that with my Canon PowerShot SD1000 (point-n-shoot) camera. I was about 2 feet away from the lil guy and he didn't seem to care. Thanks.

This is why once you ask your question you shut up and listen to the answer.:)

How can questions that are asked over and over again be stupid ones? Just because they can be easily answered by doing research doesn't make them stupid questions. If the questions are so stupid then why are the answers so readily available on the internet? Obviously someone thought they were important enough for people to base websites around em.

I am coming from the viewpoint that telling someone those two fallacies makes them lazy and they never learn how to learn. They never learn the scientific method, logic, language, etc.

I disagree......there are many times when I wanted to ask a question, and for lack of courage, or fear of ridicule, I never asked it. Yada,Yada, you can say........there are no stupid questions, just stupid people. No. Every question is valid. It may seem stupid to the enlightened and knowledgeable host of experts, but the person asking has not a clue. And though the question seems trivial and elementary to the host of experts, there's still someone out there 'wanting' to know (and probably 20 guys afraid to ask).

This was our other dog. You can't tell from this, but she was a monster in her day.

Ditto. But I (we) have found our way, right? More to learn too, so I'll shut up now!

Our first dog (pre-corgi days)...passed out in her water bowl after surgery.

I felt sorry for her, but I also couldn't stop laughing. This could make a great meme pic.
