Julia Domna's evolving coiffure

Excellent and comprehensive writeup on this theme, and great use of the Janet Stephens videos. She taught me the pronunciation of "chignon," the device that is so often called a "bun" at the back of the head. I watched those a year ago and they propelled me into a closer look at the women of Rome. It became a collecting focus for me too.

But in this thread I particularly like the way you have interwoven the various kinds of graphic and artifactual evidence. I am impressed that you have marshaled so many kinds of evidence in such a concise way. Very comprehensive, coherent, and simply -- well done.
