It's currently in an ANACS holder but I want it in NGC plastic. It would need to be cracked out and sent in raw. Clashing is unreal
I can't attest to the originality of the toning, but I personally like it. The coin probably was cleaned at some point, but looks "market acceptable" to me. I'm assuming that ANACS straight-graded it? Are we talking old white small holder, or larger modern holder?
This is in the old bar soap holder and I think that the holder is what gave the blue and redish purple toning that I've seen many times in these older ANACS holders.
It baffles me that NGC hasn't figured out they're losing business in situations like this. What's the harm in them accepting other company's crossovers all they have to do is "DNC" the coins if they're subpar. Anyways, nice coin you got there!
While I don’t agree with it, I believe NGC thought it was bad for business that a lot of coins were not crossing (disappointed customers would then not submit at all afterwards).
Yeah I can't get behind that logic by NGC. The same people sending coins that won't cross will also send raw coins with unrealistic expectations - maybe NGC should take suggestions from customers on what the coins should grade as to not disappoint anyone and scare them off.
Good luck! I would have submitted to PCGS since you could do a regular crossover, selecting "ANY (straight grade)" as the minimum grade.
Looks a lot like my 1799 dollar, reflective surfaces from a prior cleaning , then retoning. Love the die crack and clashes! Good luck with the submission!
