What if someone was to find a 1959 wheat penny? What should they do with it? I know everyone believes that a wheat 1959 does not exists. But, what if one was found.? I am posting this thread for a talking point to get information on this subject. I still flip over a 1959 penny to see the other side. Just maybe-----. Please post your thoughts on this. Thank you in advance for any thoughts.
Jeez... Imagine the scrutiny it would undergo. Photographs would be laughed at. Then it would be scoffed for being an altered date.... Only thing a person could do would be to send it to me to save themselves the shame!
I do also Fred Weinberg and I once had a sit down, face to face conversation on the 1959 Wheat reverse that was found once.. He told me honestly that it is a fake and not legit!
@Gunner1944 Some information - https://www.pcgs.com/news/the-mystery-of-the-1959-d-mule-lincoln-cent https://www.ngccoin.com/boards/topi...-1959-d-lincoln-cent-with-wheat-ears-reverse/
knowing human nature & the government's record for errors - I would bet there is At Least 1 genuine 59 Wheat - but proving it to be genuine would be impossible
I read that @paddyman98 - I didn't realize it was yours. Good info The 1959 wheat was the only "Mule" I was aware of until my CT education began.
