1976 error?

    Where did you get the coin?
    It is a pretty large clip and I don't see any Blakesly Effect. Hard for me to see if it was done post-mint or if it is legit.

    Looks like it is someone's attempt at faking a clipped planchet. The identifyers of a genuine clipped planchet are not on the coin, the blakesly effect or other strike weaknesses.

    I think it's post mint. It should have a Blakesly effect, but doesn't. There is no strike weakness near the cut edge. The cut edge shows all of the hallmarks of having been cut with some kind of nippers.

    That line in the center of the cut comes from two blades meeting. Think nail clipper.
    Coin blanks are punched with one blade, making a smooth cut.
