So recently I picked up some halves at the bank, and they all were bicentennial. Within the bunch, i found what I believe to be an original roll. All the coins inside are beautifully toned. I had the darnedest time trying to get photos so that you get the "real feel". Maybe there's an MS68 within the batch ;). 20180628_163248.jpg 20180628_163257.jpg 20180628_163303.jpg 20180628_163312.jpg 20180628_163403.jpg 20180628_163411.jpg 20180628_163416.jpg 20180628_163421.jpg 20180628_163455.jpg 20180628_163512.jpg

@ace71499, I keep coins as nice as those despite the fact they are only Cu-Ni clad. If the high grade common coins I keep do not end up having added value in the future, then after I die my kids will at least have several hundred dollars worth in face value when they open my safe :)

    @CTRollHunter, great finds!

I picked up the second order of $1000 for this week. I started on the last $250 in the first of four boxes and my 18 yo daughter helped me go through them.

She found this ‘43 walking liberty, which is only my 3rd WL in 4 years of searching, plus she found a ‘64 JFK. She’s lucky! I found nothing :) 4C95ED41-D2D8-4412-ADD8-5348BBA2E58D.jpeg

It’s Friday June 29. The last hunting day for the first half of 2018. Since January 1 I have been blessed to find 104 dimes and many halves. Here are today’s finds from 3 boxes of dimes and $90 in CWR halves.

Funny story...yesterday at hobby lobby the girl called her manger to ask if she could accept a two dollar bill. This is the same store where they had to call the manager to see if they could accept half dollar coins. It just leaves me speechless

Weird week. Last week vacation and picked up 12 boxes on Monday. Mixed skunks but found 24-40s and 5-90s. Picked up a random Brinks box, nada!

I then get a call from my Thursday pick up branch and the computer tripled my order $9000! Can I take them? Yes!

    Results was 44- Enders
    375-40s
    44-90s
    5-87s
    A slew of Impaired proofs
    And my first two 2018s

    Total silver was 60 ounces

Still have two boxes to pick up next week!!

@Sam Carter, holy cow, you worked for them, but you scored, congrats! You gotta love when coin order mistakes made by a bank turn out in your favor. I would not want to re-deposit all the cast-off coins in my town, but I am certain you have a solid dump plan or you would not have picked up $15K in halves in 1 week.

I was just celebrating a much smaller win: A moment ago I made a phone call to the head teller at one of the banks I order halves from. She was out the day I picked up my order this week, so I wasn't able to request she place another order for me. She told me on the phone today she had already placed the weekly coin order, but she had gone ahead and added my usual order for halves without me requesting it. Her customer service is excellent :)

Thanks! Yes, was very surprised and yes slot of work pulling silvers and then dumping at Credit Union coin star.

Still have two boxes waiting for me from this run, if It averages out I should be able to grab another 30 40s

It was a nice way to end June, my best month all year.

So I went to my CU today with about $50.00 in change I had saved. It is a new to me machine, Slide open plastic cover dump in holes with fan that turns. OK I had one canadian quarter in there to see what happened , There is a magnet that grabs all the canadians and steel , And it did not reject it So I stuck my hand in and yanked it out when I was done. $53.00 I had saved in about 8 months.

Found a reasonably good 1941P penny.
It's fun to read about finding halves.
But around here pennies it is.

I know you say you can only afford pennies. Which I totally get. I’m poor (monetarily) as well but why could you not on a certain day, say payday, get a $250 box of dimes in the morning when the bank opens and Redeposit the dimes before the bank closes. If you do that it’s like you never took it out. Cheers! And HH.

Finished the last box of cents I had laying around in the basement. 12 wheats. Oldest was 1938. Nothing else of note. Oh well. Hopefully they remembered to order my halves and cents to pick up tomorrow.
