Interesting. I could swear this statement is supporting the exact opposite of your point.

We have first-time posters coming in waves every day with blurry pictures of road-rash cents, and we have long-time, knowledgeable posters. Which is the "obnoxious stranger", and which is the "customer"?

I noticed some recent posts by this member. No offense intended, but this member appeared to disregard the advice of many experts here and get angry. Many new members will often do this and then vanish from the forum. To be completely honest and blunt, I'm not too worried as such members rarely contribute to the forum.

Frankly, it seemed her overriding concern was defending the seller of a questionable gold coin. All that happened was she got advice to be wary of the coin — and not the seller.

What I'm doing something saying that anyone who comes here asking for an opinion should expect to get one. And if it's one they don't like they can ask for clarification. If, after many others chime in with the same critique, they should accept it instead of insisting others are wrong. If they then choose to leave, we regret it, but that's their choice. Sometimes rejection of sound advice shows more of an ego problem than a willingness to learn.

I agree, if someone wants to leave they should just leave. Some people just can't help seeking attention though.

I've been accused (in my opinion) of being a crooked dealer.I have never sold a coin! I must have asked the wrong questions.i can't get an answer to a question but I still log on every day. Trying to learn.

I don't think she liked the one thread where she told the OP to take the coin to an expert at the LCS .... then it devolved from there ...

and I mentioned that my LCS would probably just throw it away in the trash for the OP of that damaged plated cent.

I have an entire bucket of 1955 DDs ..... at least when I don't wear my glasses. I've been meaning to post some dark and fuzzy images for confirmation, as I only want confirmation and no negativity.

@Joe Babb looking at your profile, you have only responded to threads three times before this. All the times you were responding and not the Original Poster and one time you were advised this was hijacking a thread (something all of us do at one time or another) and in another one, someone else was accused of being a crooked dealer.

Give us a chance. Post your own thread with a question and a picture. 1) go to Forums at the top 2) choose a Forum (Coin Chat is always safe) 3) select "Post New Thread" over at the right edge 4) give it a title and post your thread with pictures if you can upload them from your computer 5) no need for a Poll.

Please feel free to PM me if you have any questions. Don't give up on us

of course there is. Doesn't matter what the departing member asked.
I'm referring to the practice of running off new or old members.
