Here is a link to the images released by the US MInt, noteably, not on their website. http://heraldnet.com/apps/pbcs.dll/...071227&IKategori=BIZ&ID=50294169&Ref=AR&sell= Look at Andrew Jackson. Maybe it's the resolution of the pics, but he looks disfigured. Oh, and just so you know, Congress has approved the moving of "IN GOD WE TRUST" from the edge to a more prominent location on the coin. That'll prolly happen in 2009.
The US Mint just updated its website to show the 2008 images. Upoon closer inspection of Jackson, he doesn't look quite as disfigured as the othr images show. http://www.usmint.gov/mint_programs/$1coin/
I want to know if they could have possibly looked as goofy as the images on the coins are. look at the rolls on Jacksons neck and has bitter beer face. Monroe looks like he's standing in front of a wind machine.
James Monroe looks like the tribal women in Thailand that have rings around their necks. http://content.answers.com/main/con...mb/8/88/200px-Kayan_woman_with_neck_rings.jpg Jackson looks like he he is in rehab.
I'm completely bored with the Prez Dollars already. Their design is uninspired, no one uses them in commerce and it's going to take years and years to complete the set. Nah!
I like them as a collectable. There are a lot of options: proof, uncirculated satin finish and business strike. I'm experimenting with different kinds of albums and displays. I'm going to try framing a set of the proofs to hang on the wall. I agree that they'd be more interesting if they circulated, which they would do immediately if the government took the obvious step of stopping production of paper dollars.
Dumb set.. I'm a jerk to collect them, but then I am doing it for my grandson,he's 10. Maybe when he is 50 they will be worth $2.00 each.
