    Hello everyone,
This is my first post on this forum. I recently came across a large group of coins and found a few that stood out to me. Through some online research, I have began to try to educate myself on the Classic 1955 double die as well as the so called poor mans version. However, to me in my novice level, this coin doesn't seem to fit either criteria exactly. I would like to submit this coin to the community here for your review and opinions.
Thank you very much for you time and help.

Not sure what it going on there.
First, it is not the 1955 doubled die.
It may be somebody's bad attempt at a cast counterfeit of the real deal.

Definitely an interesting "whatever it is". Does have a cast look, perhaps @Fred Weinberg would chime in

It's not cast. It is real. It is Not a 1955 doubled die. Looks chemically altered

Well, yeah there is something going on there. But not mint related. I would put my money on some spray lacquer or shellac. While the spray was wet the coin was tilted allowing the spray to run and give the "out of focus" sort of appearance.

I think a hi temp torch with the cent at an angle. Notice the flow chart around the date. The worn parts on the cheek are wavered also, so I do not think it was on the mint product or that area would be flattened by wear. I have seen about 4-5 of these this year alone, so wondering if there is a youtube showing how to make such. Jim

It's been put against a wire brush machine.

That's what they look like after the
coin has been pushed against a
    wire brush 'buffing wheel'.

Yep, didn't recognize your icon on this sight. Extensive whizzing on the obverse.

I have one of these, Fred W. said the same thing for mine.
I had some success creating this effect on a coin.
I think these where made to dupe, back when the chance of finding one in change was possible.
