    1871 raw $1.

What is your best guess at what this would bring at a coin show or local coin shop and/or Ebay? TIA.

I’d sell it for about $350

    Thanks guys.

What do you think this would grade? I will withhold my opinion.

    F+ details, cleaned and scratched.

That said, truly problem free examples are scarce.

I was thinking VG-10 to Fine, cleaned and scratched. This being a case where the description is worse than the coin as your dollar has pretty decent eye appeal. I suspect it would be in the $250 to $300 range.

Ok. I think the obverse is VG08 maybe VG10 and the reverse is F12. Overall a VG10 cleaned and scratched.

I like the coin though and agree it has eye appeal.

I'm no expert on grading seated coinage, but the shield is completely outlined, and the left stars show some detail. Yet some areas show weakness, so some room for individual interpretation and debate I reckon. Maybe some others will weigh in yet.
