On the way home from a trip to SoCal, stopped by at a rest area with several vending machines. Found out the machines are using dollar coins for change so I scoured my wallet, backpack and the car for any cash I can find and buy stuff to get change. I don't carry much cash but still ended up with 14 of them : 1 x 2009 D Sacagawea No description (commemorates the contribution of Native American women to agriculture) 2 x 2010 D Sacagawea Great Law of Peace 2 x 2000 D Sacagawea regular eagle reverse 1 of each Presidential coins : - Andrew Johnson - Zachary Taylor - James Madison - Abraham Lincoln - William Henry Harrison - George Washington - James Monroe - Thomas Jefferson 1 x 1979 Susan B. Anthony This is a great addition to my amazing $1 coin collection of 2000 P Sacagawea and Andrew Johnson covered in glue lol.
The Sacramento Regional Transit Light Rail does the same thing at all their stations, I used to get the dollar coins in change from them.
Nice the Casino that I visit frequently by my house I can put a $20 bill in the cigarette machine and it always loads me up with dollar coins I CRH them occasionally. Dave

Why not just get them from the bank? Around here, they're begging people to take the $1 coins from them.
My bank doesn't have these, I've asked before as I wanted to give rolls as bday gifts. It's possible the lady just didn't want to give me any, she had that look...or maybe it's my looks lol.
I live nearby, in Davis. And I don't use the regional transit any longer, I was speaking of a few years ago when I worked in downtown Sac. I would occasionally ride the light rail out to the UC Med Center.
Stopped by my regular gas & snack station and bought some junk food. The clerk handed me my change and I found a 1930 Buffalo. What luck. So I bought lottery tickets. Stood in line to see if he has any more, no. Sorry for the photos, can't get my scope to see the whole coin. It's old and worn, but still...….
