HAPPY SUNDAY ALL!!! Can someone please help me in determining what exactly is going on here on the obverse and reverse of this 1994 d Washington Quarter indicated by the arrows? Thanks for the replies in advance! Now a snow cone sounds delish!:hungry:` 1994 d Washington quarter DDO1.jpg 1994 d Washington quarter DDO2.jpg 1994 d Washington quarter DDO3.jpg 1994 d Washington quarter DDO4.jpg 1994 d Washington quarter DDO5.jpg 1994 d Washington quarter DDO6.jpg 1994 d Washington quarter DDO7.jpg

I'm no expert on quarters but based on those photos I would have to say die deterioration doubling (DDD).IMO

Your coin shows what is called machine doubling.

I have the same exact quarter but with a little more doubling like on the eagle head and under the beak.

    It's flat, machine double.
You need the bubble to be a double

Catchy but ouch! Now everyone who sees a bubble on a zinc cent will think they have a doubled die.;):D

It's caused by a worn die.

I have one of these, but with a Die Clash. My guess is that the die was nearly worn out by the time these were struck.

By the time what was struck? All these are are examples of strike doubling. Your die clash isn't due to a worn die but the clashing together of dies.

You need to start a new thread and post full size photos of both sides.

What is? Die deterioration, Machine doubling or "true doubling"?
