    Team,

Just wanted to say Merry Christmas to all ahead of time. We're going to be away from normal electronic conveniences (phone, internet, electricity) for a few days as we are heading to the family camphouse (Rustic Christmas Reunion) down in the wilds of Nebraska along the river for a few days. Cooking is going to be an adventure on that old woodburning stove, :( I've only camped there in the summer months but we've all packed plenty of blankes and extra sleeping bags, LOL....:rolling::rolling::rolling::D:D:D

Remember, the Missouri River was the highway Lewis & Clark used on their route to explore the west and you can be sure I'm going to be taking my metal detector and plenty of batteries... :)

Take Care and Merry Christmas All
    Ben

We're back, pulled in a couple of hours ago & finally unpacked. Only spent Christmas day at the camp-house due to the weather (snow and cold), pics tomorrow I hope. The drive was terrible and we saw a serioius chain-reaction wreck on I-29 south. It was about 2 miles long, wrecked trucks/cars were in the median and ditches. Some were even driving the wrong way on the interstate trying to get out of it. Very bad...

But back to the presents :) I did get an 1829 CBH (O-105, F12ish condition and, yes it was needed for the old BCBHDC) my daughter bought me. My lovely wife got me my long awaited Christmas wish a beautiful set of BAGPIPES. I wonder how long before the girls wish they'd never gotten me the set, LOL...

Good to hear you got back OK. There was no snow here in Denver (or rather Littleton, where the wife and I were staying with my parents) Christmas Eve, but when we woke up Christmas morning, there was at least 6 fresh inches on the ground! However, the drive back to Denver (only 30 mins. normally) was still slippery and slow. Can't imagine what Nebraska was like!

Great score on the bagpipes! If you can't detach the pipe portion, I know they sell practice pipes (minus the whole bag get-up) so that you can learn to play without annoying the whole neighborhood WHILE saving your breathe at the same time (since you're not huffing and puffing to keep that bag full).

Thanks... Yes, I can detach or plug any of the three lg pipes, but the Chanter pipe (the one with the holes) is what I'm having trouble with. The reed is flattened, probably because it was in the box for a LONG time, the pipes are from Lochcarren of Scotland...

Had a buddy who used to tinker with them pipes. we offered several times to take him goose hunting with us and use his pipes for calling but it never came about. He switched to an Accordian. Now dont offer to take him anywhere. That man can make some dreadful racket with that thing. Hmmmm, wonder if he could call in an elk.............
