    Yes that's quite nice.
You would think someone would see a batch of dime discs in the quarter bin,
but they were prob too busy drinking that terrible Canadian beer.

I don't see how that last one is verified. (from your link)
    It might not be anything.

I will put this error coin with my toned Caribou quarter set in the "Caps" pages album.

    @Fred Weinberg
thanks for the compliment. I saw you once at a Las Vegas coin show talking with Charmy the penny lady. I was thrilled to be in your presence. I wanted to ask for your autograph, but thought you would not want to be bothered with it. It is not everyday you see coin experts. It is fun say that I saw you to my coin friends.

Did the Canadian mint, make 20 centavo Honduran coins that year?
And on the flip it asks if it is struck on a dime planchet. At 2.1 grams that's possible.
    The 1979 20 centavos Honduras weighs 2.27. I don't think that's it.

most of the 20 centavos in my Krause catalog are in silver, copper-nickel, nickel plated steel and weigh 2.27-2.50g. the only 2 that come close to the weight of his coin are 2g. but the metal is nickel plated steel ? I too am thinking it is on a different coin.

looked up the Canada 1979 cent. it says it is made from bronze weighing in at 3.24 g.

Right and if the weight listed is correct at 2.1 could be on a Canadian dime planchet.

but the color is all wrong.. unless it was underground with environmental damage ??? I just now sent questions to the seller.

Right, it does have cent color. Hmm. Let me look again.
I was just considering size and weight. It certainly looks like a copper/ bronze coin.

here was his response to my questions....

I know a researcher that keeps a list of years and corresponding countries that the Canadian Mint struck coins for. According to his data Canada stuck 20 centavos coins in that time frame and the weight matches the coin. Actual Canadian pennies weigh 2.35g,so it's definitely not a penny and Canadian dimes weigh 2.07g,so it wouldn't have been a dime. Therefore it can be deduced that it is not a Canadian coinage planchet.

The modern weight for Canadian pennies don't apply to a 1979. You gave the correct weight in an earlier post.
If the 2.1 gram weight is correct, it could be PMD or an error.
    2000–2012 2.35 g
    1978–1979 3.24 g
