yes good point Hobo. For those who dont know, wheaties were made until 1958, anything later would be a memorial.

There are, last time I checked, 193 pennies in a pound. With shipping he's charging about 10 cents/penny.

For very circulated wheats, you can easily buy them for this price from any dealer, esp. if you were buying a bunch of them.

(And, a dealer may pay you 2 cents apiece for them if he were buying them...)

Yea Arzona, do you know the exact amout of wheaties in a pound??? I said that I thought it is around 140 coins, but wasnt too sure. Now Themepark said 193, which seems more like Zinc to me. But Im not too sure of the amount of either.

 

146 BU copper cents per pound, add a few for heavily circulated coins. 181 zinc.

 

It's very simple math. (I like math.)

A wheat cent weighs 3.11 grams.

There are 453.59 grams per pound.

So:

(453.59 grams/lb) / (3.11 grams/cent) = 145.85 cents/lb.

We can call it 146 cents per pound.

 

My dealer only charges 4 1/2 cents for each wheatie. Full roll, $1.75. Once I bought just one common date wheatie from him that he had in a bucket, gave him a nickel, and asked "Now I get a half cent as change, right?" He said he would do me one better and gave me a cent.

are you asking the face value of of a 5,000 count bag???? Well, last time I checked 5,000 cents is right around $50 face value. LOL, There are 100 cents in a dollar. If youd like, I can show you my math.
