Well if you read the thread you will learn the same thing the OP did, it is just worth the bullion value and the company that made it doesn't exist anymore.
That is a nice-looking bar. The serial number implies that perhaps 608 or more were made. To me, that looks like a bar that would be worth a premium over "melt", but not a huge premium. Maybe $4 per ounce above "spot" ?

[/QUOTE] A troy ounce is the same as 1 American Silver Eagle Coin=31 grams of silver. To be exact, they are 31.103 grams of fine silver as some of the purists websites like wiki will list. One troy ounce is always 31 grams no matter what! The 28.3 grams is equivalent to a Mexican ounce! At least that's how it's always been done in California but that's only for marijuana and other drugs, not for silver or gold.
