Anyone familiar with the sms series, looking for input on this one.

I have not been able to find a similar example and not certain if this is a straight ddr or possibly combination of some machine doubling and true dd. In the photos attached, the lettering appears to show characteristics of both. However on the wing tips, this appears to be true doubling.

Any comments would be much appreciated as well as directions to any reference materials that would be directly relevant.

    Thanks so much.

All I see is MDD (Machine Damage Doubling).

+2. It does look like a pretty extreme example though, which makes for a neat piece even if it doesn't add any value.

Thanks everyone for commenting - there is much more on the reverse i just put on a couple of the top. Thought i would add others and some closer shots for posterity. Some of the letters close up just look beyond mdd (A - photo)? 1967 sms possible ddr 4.jpg 1967 sms possible ddr 5.jpg 1967 sms possible ddr a.jpg 1967 sms possible ddr t.jpg
