It could be a good thing or a bad thing, depending on your view, but why do some coins get attributed for Full Head, Full Steps, Full Bands, and Full Torch, but Washington quarters dont have Full Arrows/Feathers, as well as other long-minted types like Kennedy halves? I am not saying I would like it, but why do some get certain details get attributed and others don't?
Collectors would hafta be willing to pay a premium fer extry feathers on worshigtons or a full shield on kennedy halves. I sure wouldnt, would you? Cmon folks!! Mark this here post as best answer!!
Essentially because collectors demanded the other ones. If you can make a big market push for a new one that catches on it'll get adopted
Well, I ask because even when there is an attribution, there is still debate. For Jeffersons with the Monticello, is Full steps 5 or 6 steps? And what about the small set of steps on each side? Why are those not counted? And why do some steps get attributed with FS when there is a contact mark on the steps? And even if there is, that doesn't mean the rest of all the other details won't be better than one that doesn't. And of course if you don't PAY the extra attribution fee, they do not put it on the slab at all. So, I was wondering if it is issues like this that explains why no attribution for these other ones.
That’s not true at all. FS, Ft, FBL, FH ect none of those have annatteibution fee they are automatic designations
Whether joking or serious, your comment does not make sense. That is a phrase in response when someone complains; mine was not a complaint but a question/observation.
Ok. So I guess this fee is just for already graded ones you would like to get designated, correct? And then raw ones you submit have it automatically if they meet the standard?
That’s a service level no one should use imo. Yes it’s for designations that you think they missed but if you’re going to do that you should just regrade it or crack it out and resubmit it
I have never cracked one out. I even have some old ANACS fatties with 64s amd 65s I know could get better grades, and a few others that might. I prefer to leave them in the older holders.
