I started coin roll searching this afternoon and the first roll was an odd shade of red...I had never seen that shade of red before ( that I remember). It was a cent roll, and I opened it up and found 14 Wheat Cents!!!!!...….FORTEEN....That has never happened to me before....
Anyone else ever get lucky like that?

That's pretty awesome, I never had that happen with cents before. I think I was averaging around 5 wheats a box a couple years ago. I did however find a couple rolls like that searching half dollars :)

I found an entire roll's worth (50 coins) of silver Roosevelt dimes in a Coinstar reject slot once.
I don't think I'll ever get another find as good for the rest of my natural life.

Solid red is typically an older roll. I always ask for sold color Customer wrapped rolls because those are typically older coins. I have got lucky before by getting solid rolls of wheat cents and one time I got over 150 wheat cents in a few Customer wrapped rolls with the bulk of them being pre 1940. Anything can be found as long as you keep searching. Happy hunting.:)

On 2 different occasions within the past year, a teller called me to say a customer had turned in rolls of cents that had wheats in them. The first batch was 12 solid rolls of wheats except for one odd Memorial - 599 wheaties!!!!! The second batch was similar in production. On both occasions the coins belonged to a collector who died and family members cashed them in. As said many times before in this forum, having good relationships with your tellers is vital for getting the good stuff.:D

You found wheats in half dollar rolls? Rolling machine must have been on the fritz. Bummer to cost you 50 cents apiece. :wacky:

I got 10 rolls from a small bank a while back. One roll was filled with 1946s and 1951s LWC's pretty sure I got someones CRH rejects with that one. After I looked though it I put em back in the roll for safe keeping.
