Hi cointalkers i saw an image of the hot lips dime and was wondering if this penny would fall in the hot lips variety .
It is either machine doubling or a hit at just the right spot. This type of doubling can often be found on LHC's from 1959 through 1964, but is not an error like the Hot Lips variety.
I thought that the 'Hot Lips' variety only applied to 1888-O Morgan dollars. Are there 'Hot Lips' varieties on other denominations and years too?
For certain on the Roosevelt dime, not sure about Mercury dimes. I seem to remember maybe last year a couple of new dates on Roosies were discovered. Ken Potter did a write up in Numismatic News.
