I did some coin roll hunting yesterday / this morning and found a 1936 nickel,
1987 nickel, and a 2000 D nickel. The 1936 looks ok ( to me) but some problems
with the 1987 and the 2000D...The 1987, just inside the very outer edge, is
extremely pushed in....More on the Obverse but the Reverse also is pushed in as
well...The 2000 D has yellow spots mostly on the Reverse....I was thinking maybe
it was just some type of stain so I put a very little dish soap on the Obverse and
Reverse, and with my fingers only, rubbed the nickel as good as I could get it.
Then rinsed it and let it dry after patting it down....The rinse did not do much at
all for removing the yellow stain. What do you guys think?
    Thanks ahead of time! 1936 OBVERSE.jpg 1936 REVERSE.jpg 1987 O.jpg 1987 R.jpg 2000D 1.jpg 2000D 2.jpg 2000D 3.jpg

I think finding a buffalo in a coin roll is a day to mark on the calendar. That's slap cool!.... I won't comment on the soapy water rinse. While I personally see nothing wrong with rinsing twenty years of spunge from a very common piece.... I tend to light up some folks round here when I suggest it is a fine down to earth way to handle spunge and whatnot.

Hey thanks Randy! I certainly agree with you on the washing coins...I mean, I don't
see anything really wrong with it, But yeah...You better just keep it to yourself
or you will get a Boot Camp Butt chewing....:rage: ….Oh yes on finding a Buffalo
nickel in a coin roll....I thought my eyes were going to pop outta my head …
You have a good day Randy!
