I DO answer to the "A" part, usually preceded by "Hey ..."

Yes, it seems that in general, the public thinks that
anything they find in change that looks 'different'
must be an error - without using any common sense
to see that in the majority of cases posted here, the
damage is obvious, if thought about for 10 seconds.

You wouldn't believe the number of emails and phone
calls I deal with each and every single day with damaged
or altered coins - it's easier to 'hope' it's an error than
to, if not learn about the minting process, at least have a
grasp of what a damaged coin from circulation looks like.

I look at those large rectangular trash bins that every building
and business has, and I know, from common sense, that they
are not in any way, related, or are, possible Cars.

It's easy to get the heart rate up when dealing with these threads. I think something should be done. Possibly a simple quiz, photo related and an ABC answer. If you can't pass the quiz, you can't post in the what's it worth or error forum. I think that it would force someone to do a little research and common sense related thinking before being put into a situation of being called dumb.

Something kind of like the 10 posts to be able to sell a coin. I am not sure how much code would have to be written but it would be helpful to those of us who want to pull their hair out, because of lack of common sense.

BUUUT @Fred Weinberg it has 4 Wheels.

I have seen them STOP a car or two. It's usually not a good look.

You should charge at least $5 for a basic answer of authenticity/common sense.

bet that would cut that down real fast, or you'd end up being a millionaire real quickly.

$5 up front. Becomes $50 if they argue with you.

    If it's $5, I'd be rich.

If it's the $50 fee, I'd own the island of Maui.

Yeah, the big island is adding acreage right now. Might drive down property values. Hot deals in the meantime!

Maui is about 35 miles from the Big Island.

Kurt , that is rather sick humor , If your apartment building was burning or sinking, I would not be joking about it. There are members from Hawaii on the forum, have at least a little restraint please.

Given where it is, the most likely problem CT members may be dealing with are mainlanders cancelling travel plans and negatively impacting their incomes. There really are VERY few people affected, relative to even just the big island's population. And at a minimum, I can't think of a more apt situation calling for the description "self inflicted wound". Who builds downhill from a rift zone on an active volcano? Isn't it a little like building on Cape Hatteras and then wanting to be bailed out when you get hurricane damage? The fact is some catastrophes are inevitable.

Is that the moderator in you saying this or is it the non-SRA part of you? lol

I could have gone farther into "rock bottom prices", but I resisted the impulse.

Corgi, it is the human in me saying that, but that has always been the question with some. What's next? Oh, you have cancer? let me know when the coins are available? Oh that member had his house flooded...Should have raised the floor level? All the comments during the Hurricanes in the East/South, all were comments of concern.

No Kurt can say it, he can even say the "farther", he mentioned. As if he has never had problems he mentioned on the forum, but never saw any comment like that about from any other member.

Some problems are outside the reasonable realm of likelihood. Having a home destroyed on the flank of perhaps the world's single most active volcano is not outside the bell curve. And not just any volcano, but one whose each and every eruption site in the last 100 years is moving toward exactly where you built.

But I do have a suggestion. Maybe if David Hall would appease Pele by throwing each and every one of his ugly Hawaiian shirts into the caldera, we may get some relief.
