I'm not new, but definitely an amateur, what scale currently on the market would you recomend? Price should not be an issue, this is an insurance policy for all of us. Please post your recommendations...
Do you live near a major city? Such as NYC? Any smoke shop sell small scales really cheap and they all work great. Like this.. Jewelry Pocket Scale
I'm happy with this one - 500 g. capacity / 0.01 g. accuracy - use the plastic cover as a weighing tray to protect the coins & platform surface (4"x4") - $12.99 https://www.amazon.com/GDEALER-Digi...srs=10072128011&ie=UTF8&qid=1528207457&sr=8-4 If you want a pocket sized / portable mini-scale accurate to 0.1 g., there are plenty to choose from, under $10 - good luck and good collecting
Coins, duh. At least, I used to hear people talking about the bags of nickels and dimes they needed to weigh...
Of course one can argue over weights/mint tolerances and find a 0.01 scale appropriate, but often with rounding the accuracy may be compromised where as a 0.001 scale give 2 decimals accurate with the last one rounded, so in my choice a mush better one. Buy one ( amazon, ebay or where ever such as this one in advertisement, quick illustrative example so read feedbacks on a scale, make sure they have a cover and calibration weights, as any time you move them briskly, they my become erroneous reading, so calibrate.
