Lol. Very true. Believe it or not I’ve actually felt ICG is better than ANACS for quite some time for grading. Also their holder is much better constructed in my opinion

Thanks for your in-depth comment. Much appreciated! Any idea as to why the flip-flop by MM at HSN? There is a reason, and maybe you could find out. Anyways, thanks again!

Not a peep. Things are running as normal around here, I have a cart of submissions next to my desk piled as high as my cart was when I graded at NGC. I work in a separate, dark, grading room so I'm not privy to all the stuff involving the company. I do pass through the office section on my way in /out. I'll keep an ear to the ground and post any info I can.

PS I expect more will be found on the TV show. Either the host will sell ICG coins again or he will continue saying only three services. Wonder if all his former customers will request refunds...LOL.

Whens the ANACS contract run out. Might be hearing about two services after that’s done with how many products are recycled on the show

Would you care to post an example or two of a suspect NGC 68 Morgan??
Otherwise this is just more of your biased PCGS puffery and hot air

I DON'T have pics, just a rumor. But when I was at the Central States show this year, the dealers were talking about another dealer who bought a bag of Morgans, many of which were rainbow toned. He submitted most of the bag at the show and got a handful of 68's from NGC. One dealer in particular told me, "I wouldn't have bought them as 65's, no matter what the toning looked like!"

    Could've been just jealousy, though...

The whole they shouldn’t have been 65s things is very likely overblown. That said NGC is easier to get 68s from than PCGS from the pop reports and given how PCGS dominates the top of the market there’s usually a reason why some of them stay in NGC holders.

Were you ever a grader for any of the companies? You seem to know a lot of the details about how they work, particularly PCGS.

I would guess the whole scenario is overblown.
Maybe the dealer did get one or two 68s while the rest of the bag was lower grade. And the others likely passed on it because their offers of melt weren't enough to buy it. :p

For dealers, the trick is finding a way to have them make YOU money. For collectors, they aren't a scam if you want slabbed and authenticated coins.

Thank you and right on point! HSN still has an ICG Graded coin for sale on their web site. If MM doesn't consider ICG to be a major grading service like he does ANACS, NGC, and PCGS, then what's the point of paying for the Authentication and Grade for the coin pictured in file? Would love to call Customer Service on that one!

Suppose you got your hands on an 1893-S Morgan Dollar in a very nice condition, say AU or better? I bet you would submit that coin to a Third-Party Grading Service ASAP to help determine its current market value. Not to mention slabbing it to preserve your rarity. Just something to consider...

No, I've just used them all including CAC and pay attention to how the markets treat them. I also read as much as I can from various forums paying attention to those that I know are actively engaged ect tuning out the noise so to speak. There’s a lot of heavy hitters giving insight here and there if you read around a lot which my experiences have supported

Hello all. My name is Ryan and I am a customer service representative of Independent Coin Graders. I wanted to provide some information toward the original poster’s question. We have had a long relationship with HSN selling many of our graded coins dating back over 15 years. I am not sure why Mr. Mezack made his remarks toward ICG during recent broadcasts, but I can say that HSN is still selling ICG products on their website here. https://www.hsn.com/search?query=icg. Contact me with any other questions or inquires about submitting with us.
