Good morning to ALL! I was wondering what I am seeing here on the reverse of this 2015 d Blue Ridge Parkway Washington quarter? It appears to be some sort of multi strike showing on all of the outer letters towards to rim? The edges of the letters show split serifs and separation as well which is making it difficult for me to determine. 2015 d Washington Quarter DDR.jpg 2015 d Washington Quarter DDR2.jpg 2015 d Washington Quarter DDR3.jpg Any and all help is greatly appreciated! Cheers!:woot:

The way the top of the letters extend almost like stretching makes me think it's a Worn Die Strike

    V. Kurt Bellman Yes, I'm blunt! Get over your "feeeeelings".

Keep in mind, my dear folkies, these are INCUSE letters. And the "extra" is in all cases outward from the center.

Thank you kindly for the reply! Please excuse my ignorance on the matter, but I thought a worn die would actually make the letters etc., look more faded?

That's what's so perplexing to me. How could incused letters and numbers get "doubled"?
