These are common to find in nice shape, they were collected and didn't see much circulation, that is until people found out that they weren't worth much.

there are billions of these. that 1 is in good shape. my ex girlfriend used to hoard them. I do admit they look pretty cool. If I would find 1 in change I would give them to her. been a while since I have seen any in circulation.

I am very partial to bicentennial coinage. The new designs were something we didn’t often see back then and as a coin loving youngster I was crazy over them...... But yes, these were minted for two years and were minted in the billions. They are very common. Yes the quarter you found is in very good shape. However these are so common I doubt you could realize any more than face value for it.

I realized how many of these I had and decided that I should let them go. I took $50 worth rolled to my bank about a year ago. Don't know what might have happened to them then.

These were a cool promotion for the mint. Folks loved them and saved them. The high relief on the obverse gave them a nice look. I would bet this design has and still does bring many new collectors to the hobby.

Yet the mint and the Treasury dept fought against them when the legislation was proposed.
