Do you consider yourself an honest person to deal with when it comes to coins and currency dealing/trading/selling/buying? I'm not talking about marking up a coin %10-%25 and making a profit or cherrypicking a great piece. I'm talking about unethical and illegal coin/currency counterfeiting, trading, stealing, etc., which would/could be considered a lawbreaking or a critically unethical action by your peers. This is going to be a poll which is worded just the way I wanted it to be, and of course will be anonymous. Take Care Ben
Proud to say it's something my parents taught me through example. I may never get rich because of it but I sleep peacefully at night and don't have to worry about "getting caught."
Let's see - if a poster's true answer is "Yes", of course he/she will vote that way. But, if the true answer is "No", then in the very nature of things the poster is likely to lie and vote "Yes". So, what's the point of the poll?
Yes , but sometimes I wish I could do some bad things to make money (and not get caught of course) . I must admit , I have good and bad in me.
I would like to 'think' i am honest with high integrity. Unfortuantely, it is not the decision i am able to make for myself. Only those with whom i have had business with would be able to make that claim. I can only hope they say what i think
I have never done anything where I wouldn't have been satisfed if I had been dealing on the other side of the transaction.
I voted yes. I posted the poll for no special reason, just wondering... Take Care & Merry Christmas, Peaceful Hanukkah, and Joyful Hajj Ben
yes, alot of polls are measured by tracking IP's for the purpose of a user only voting once. one 'might' be able to track the IP and go from there But i dont think it would be necessary! From my dealings with alot of folks of Cointalk, from chatting with them, exchanging numismatic items, or buying and selling, none of them who showed the slightest hint of dishonesty. I think with the group we have here at CT, we would be hard pressed to find a person who was NOT of high moral character!!!
I voted no, because in the real world I am a down right lousy cheat, that likes to take people for there money. Grrrr. Just joking. I voted yes, because I try to be as honest and as courteous I can. Way I am being raised and brought up. Treat others how you would like to be treated. Sometimes I get the mindset though, I will become to trusting of people, and think that since I won't cheat or steal from someone, why will they do it to me? Bad way to think these days. Which is sad when you think about it really. Phoenix
i answered ''no,'' because as hontonai said, ''Let's see - if a poster's true answer is "Yes", of course he/she will vote that way. But, if the true answer is "No", then in the very nature of things the poster is likely to lie and vote "Yes". So, what's the point of the poll?'' although hontonai is already the hontonai the ''Registered Contrarian'' i like it when people 'think outside the box.' as for my honesty and integrity...daggerjohn- Unfortuantely, it is not the decision i am able to make for myself. Only those with whom i have had business with would be able to make that claim. I can only hope they say what i think. i always offer sellers 10 percent more than they are asking when buying and usually give away my dupes [regardless of value] when ''selling''
Here's one for ya... Hypothetical case : I'm at a coin show, considering a major purchase. I ask the dealer how much he paid for it, and he answers. How often are they telling the truth ?
