this is my fourth to last purchase for 2007 yup 3 more coming i dont know whether to or at this point but at least this coin looks good .
Based upon the images (which hopefully, are inaccurate) it looks like a "RB" example and not a "RD" one.
Gotta love MS red Indians. All mine are raw though. Just a question thoug, the bottom two diamonds, are they kind of weak like the picture shows??? I can see the top two clearly, but the bottom two are a bit weak. I have one that all 4 are very sharp and Im just trying to compare what I think it grades, compared to what PCGS grades yours.
i would think the top two are slightly more pronounced then the last 2 but in hand its difficult to make that out
Looks like one from DLRC! They do sell nice coins but I've found that in some cases I can find a coin just as nice alittle cheaper somewhere else. Check out Heritage and Teletrade...talk about some NICE coins! Speedy
my experience with teletrade has been pathetic the only nice thing about them is their christmas cards and prices but if you see something good from teletrade let me know. i have an open mind
Nice coin - looks like a 64 to me(hard to get good pictures of the red coins). I can see all 4 diamonds clearly - after clicking the lower coin.
at first i was stumped by the 4 diamond question but then i look at coins comp different and i wa sdoing a lot of research to see what diamonds were in an indian cent and then i found out what i had been calling decorations were diamonds i guess thats the fun part of being a unorthodx collector kind of reminds me when i was calling the full head full face
p.s. and likely is (now reading the responses) if the coin is from DLRC. Their photos are notoriously "off"....and the coins generally look much nicer in-hand.
Well, this is the only one I already have pictures of. These are the best pics I managed, but still dosent capture all the details. You can tell that there are diamonds, but you cant tell that all 4 are well defined. Anyhow, these pics came out pretty decent, so they might be enough for you expert graders to go by. Well, heres a link, I listed this one on coinbug to see if I get any response. http://www.coinbug.com/ViewItem.aspx?i=1763
On the 1904 my first thought was 64 RB. It could be the lighting that makes it look brown in certain areas. That is a nice coin and this is only my opinion. With the coin in hand I might change my mind to red - it also looks really clean so I also might go 65, but from the pictures the shield looks weak. My personal opinion is a really nice rb beats a red any day.
On the reverse it looks like more than 50% is browning, on the obverse looks like most of the feathers are brown. There is also streaking brown in front of the face and around the date. To me it looks like around 50% of the coins is browning - to me that is R/B. And as I said before - it could also be the lighting used. Look at the 3rd picture (called other) you can see the difference in the lighting and how it reflects off the coin.
I was talking about the 1904 at this linke - http://www.coinbug.com/ViewItem.aspx?i=1763&img=2#hImage, not your coin. You coin is certainly red. And I have been told 90% to 95%, and PCGS says 95%.
