So i got this coin and im pretty sure it is a 2000 P Sacajawea Goodacre coin but i'm not sure entirely and i' m not sure of the worth since it is pretty good every where except for that big misshape where the 2000 P is any help
It's worth a dollar unless I'm missing something, in which case someone else will surely chime in. Welcome to CoinTalk!
All of the Goodacre dollars were slabbed by TPGs when they were minted. Since your coin is not in a TPG holder, you don't have one. Here is some additional info https://www.usacoinbook.com/coins/3378/dollars/sacagawea/2000-P/goodacre-presentation-finish/
What made you come to the conclusion that this is one of the 'Goodacre dollars'? Looks pretty normal to me. Remember- they made a lot of dollar coins in 2000 and only 5000 Goodacre dollars. Also, all 5000 Goodacre dollars were sent to ICG for grading and should all be in slabs... Unless somebody broke one out and you acquired it somehow.
It's possible that someone took it out of the holder and spent it (some kid breaking into his father's collection and buying ice cream). But it is unlikely and you would need to show with clear photos the Goodacre markers on this coin. Off hand the details are not strong enough on either side.
Even if it WAS a Goodacre dollar, it probably wouldn't be worth very much because how would you prove to a buyer that it was? You may think it is, you may say it is, but unless you can prove it to the buyer he isn't paying a premium for it.
wow, I think I have several of these too where can I get them reslabbed ? oh wait they made 767 Million of them for circulation too
Who said it’s a Goodacre specimen? I see a circulated/damaged(?) dollar coin. I think you’ve been josh’ed... ...let me ask you 3 questions: 1) Do you know the diagnostics for a Goodacre specimen? 2) Where did you get the coin from? 3) Was it cracked out from a PCGS/ICG slab?
This one has seen circulation and from the reverse pic does not appear to have the enhanced tail feathers (ETF) detail. As recently as last month, Sac 2000-P MS60 normal reverse were listing for $2.00. AU58 was maybe $1.50....this one with it's flaw on the obverse would be hard-pressed to garner $1.25. Correct me me if I am mistaken (and I am certain you will), but both the Goodacre and Cheerios varieties had the ETF, with the exception that there have been Cheerios coins found without it. Spark
heavycam reckons a few Greenacre dollars would pay for a night in Bangkok not to forget. If he tried paying with those, he might prefer not to remember !!!
