I'm thinking of sending this in to PCGS to have graded. To me it appears to have the full band or torch. PCGS price guide shows a value of $2,600 for MS67. I would like to get some opinions to see if this one may reach a grade of 67. Pictures where taken of the dime while inside it's holder. Thank you for any info.
That's not an MS-67. MS 67 is startling. Maybe a 63. I can't see the FB and when did FB become a thing on Roosevelts? The obverse is nice, but the reverse doesn't even look MS.
FB stands for full bands on the torch. The coin does look much better than pictures taken. Maybe I should remove it from the holder and try to take sharper pictures. The reason that I'm asking for opinions is because the MS67 I saw on PCGS doesn't look much better than this one does in person to me. Here's a picture of MS67 from their site.
FB or FT have been found on Roosevelt dimes since the beginning in 1946. I just started noticing and collecting FB Roosie dimes because of the increase in value over non FB dimes. I will take it out of the holder and take more sharper pictures tomorrow. Thanks for the responses.
I would not call that one a 67 based on the uploaded photos. The coin is nice, but more in the MS65 range. I did a quick comparison to the MS67 fts that I own. The coin is not quite on their level. That hit on the "I" hurts. Matt
For informational purposes and those that care, here are some sites that further delineate the FB or FT on Roosevelt dimes. http://rooseveltdimes.net/full-torch-or-full-bands-roosevelt-dime/ https://www.pcgs.com/News/Pcgs-To-Add-Full-Bands-Designation-For-Roosevelt-Dimes http://news.coinupdate.com/roosevelt-values-spike-with-full-bands-3090/
I look forward to your updated pictures. Please post full size images, cropped, your coin certainly appears to be full split band (FSB) and I think it has a shot at MS65...Spark
