    Here is a Peroz Drachm I acquired.

    Not sure about the reference for this. If anyone knows, help would be appreciated.

    AR Drachm
    O: Crowned bust right, crescent on forehead.
    R: Fire altar with attendants and ribbon, star and crescent flanking flames; “Peroz” in Pahlavi to left, mint to right.

    I think that is a Gobl Type II crown with a type 3 reverse. The Type II crown is used in years 3 - 8 of his reign. The character on the left is not the king's name but the letter "M" - I can't recall what the significance of that was. I think the mint is "PR" which has been identified as Furat-Maisan which I believe was a city near Basra right at the end of the Persian Gulf.

    Nice one Mat! I just got my first Sasanian coin a couple days ago. Khusro II, I think. Not as nice as yours.

    Yes Gobl is the reference for these. That is quite the fancy helmet on Peroz. The helmets identify the ruler but I am not good yet at reading the dates or mints. I struggle to differentiate between the letters.
