All comment welcome. The 1914-S is certifies 63 brown by PCI. The coin looks better in person. I had a devil of a time getting a picture that good through the slab.

The 1922-D is raw. Don't know if it would go RB or BR, but I like that reverse - a lot. At the right angle, the coin is nearly all blue on the observe.

rlm - on that '22, take a good glass and look closely at the area from behind Lincoln's collar down to the bottom of his shoulder. Then look close to the rim from about 4 o'clock over 8 o'clock.

    Tell me what you see.

It is there, but not nearly as obvious as in the picture. It looks like an area where the die has been cleaned too much. The whole observe is on the weak side, but it is a 1922.

I wondered about it being polish lines, which is why I wanted you to look in person. Similar marks are also a sign of whizzing, but they are slightly different.

You looked - works for me ;)

Hey, nice looking coins. But um, do you mind if I ask about how much the 22D cost you??? The 22D in one of my sets is just about the same coin by the looks of it. Well, as far as grade. Only difference is your reverse is a bit stronger than mine but my obverse is alot sharper and stronger than yours. Mine has a very strong strike to the obverse, but the reverse is a tad weak.

I guarantee that those lines are not from being whizzed. The weird part of the coin to me is the bottom of the bust. It is beveled and not as smooth as the rest of the coin. You have to get the coin at just the right angle to see it. Grease on the die?

I picked that up for $31. I wish I could get some more of them. Gray sheet lists them for $125 if it is RB.

Wow, $31 that sounds like a score. Thats a really nice price to pay. I wasnt really sure of what they are going for, but I was going to guess around $60

Here is his picture and why it was so cheap. I could see enough detail on the back that I took a chance that when he said it was unc, it might be AU. I was pleasantly surprised.

Well done and good eye !!! An exceptional value

    Edit:
On the PCI slab, a recent topic. I see nothing at all wrong with that grade, it is if anything, conservative. The only issue to me is the soft strike. I do not have a 14-S in my woody set, how'd I miss that one?

I don't know how you missed it either, but thank you for missing it. I got that for just under $200 and I just saw one from NNC go for $270 - same grade. From what I have seen of NNC, I would almost bet that it is AU.

The 22-d looks cleaned to my eye.

Still a nice coin, in fact both are nice.

    Respectfully and truthfully submitted...Mike
