We're going to Rhode Island next month, June 18-20. We'll be in the Providence/Warwick area. I wondered if anyone that lives there or has been there could let me know if there's anything coin related to check out. Any good coin shops to visit or anything like that? The family doesn't have lots of interest but I'll have a little bit of time to check some stuff out. Any suggestions?

There's a coin shop there that gives you any coin you want for FREE!!
    Ok, I'm kidding.
Never been there before, and hope you have some fun and maybe pick up something cool.

I lived in Newport, RI for 3 years. Wasn't into coins at the time so I can't help you there. But I would recommend Newport if you have some time.

Will check it out, is that where all the big mansions are? Seems like I was reading about that.

Yup. There is a university in some of the mansions there called Salve Regina University. That's where my wife went to school. Her dorms one year were a massive mansion.

Providence has a couple coin shops, Warwick as well. We have amazing beaches and waterfront. I love this State.

    Woonsocket is the coin hub

I dunno about coin shops in RI, but if I were up there in the Northeast, I would wanna be doing what SpongeBob is doing in your avatar!

Awesome thanks, I had done a search on google maps but didn't come up with too much that looked promising.

We plan to check out some beaches and water, hoping the weather is good that week.

    I'll give it a look.

There is a store on Main St. I think that's it. Please don't go to Woonsocket for a representation of our State.

Ha, ok if we go there I won't hold it against RI. Surprisingly I've never really been to RI even though I live only about 3.5 hrs North in NH. Gonna spend a few nights in West Warwick, then go to Great Wolf Lodge in Mass with the kids for 2 nights. Should be fun.

We took all the kids to Great Wolf 2 years ago. They had a blast. Be prepared to break the budget.

For sure, I may bring my detector along with me although I'm not much of a Beach hunter and my AT Pro doesn't like the salt water. We'll see

Who said anything about beaches? I like to hunt for OLD stuff.

I do too, and I'm in a good spot where I live to be able to do that too here in NH. Not sure time will allow for swinging my detector much on vacation, but I may bring it just in case.

Garlicus Debt is dumb, cash is king.

    Or Pawtucket (the Bucket), lol.
Nothing wrong with going there to catch a Paw Sox game though. A nice park and a LOT less expensive than Fenway.
