Sorry guys, I'm out of town on weekends and don't have access to my photos. Here is a 1938-S Jefferson Nickel that I purchased in 2011. The current PCGS Price Guide is $35, how much did I pay 7 years ago?

that is an awesome coin

 

I wouldnt pay $500 for that one! The 65 grade is the only thing I can think of that would make it more attractive as a toner. Someone putting together a gem state toner set might be hard press to find as many as if you were to scrape the barrel for dreck as some of us do. My 22 is a 62 and I would pay more for that than this any day of the week. I am stunned at that price. Coin looks better in the true views but not $3000 better!

 

To be fair to the coin here is the true view. At $1000 I would think they overpaid by a lot. As it stands this would be the highest premium paid for a P$ toner and not many Morgan mooses woould beat it. I am baffled! Maybe i should be happy someone can get that for toned P$ if I ever need to sell but you know mine would sell for $100 surely.
