I was wondering if there is a product that a person can apply to their coins that with enhance the visual looks of them. I noticed after cleaning the patina has some what of a duller look to some. I heard of olive oil is this at all recommended or is that not advisable? Are there products that anyone uses that will not cause any harm to the metals ? I appreciate your time, and any info or recommendations that anyone has. Appreciated!! , Dillan
I use Renaissance wax sometimes mainly on a few problem surface's that I have but I do notice an improvement on the look of the coin after. It's safe as museums also use it, just make sure the coin is thoroughly dry as to not trap moisture.
A wonder product that makes everything better? Where have I seen such a thing? Oh yeah..... If it can cure headaches, backaches, earaches, infections, toothaches, rheumatism, and a bunch of deadly deceases modern medicine can't even cure, I'm sure it will be the perfect cure-all product to make all ancient coins look better. On a serious note, this product has made some dull bronze coins get a bit of a shine and life back into them, though I will not vouch for this as a cure-all product for every coin in every situation.

I second Verd-Care for bronze coins and use it routinely for my Roman Egyptian bronzes (especially tets, prone to BD) and as-needed for other bronzes. I do not like wax on bronze coins because it can trap moisture in.
Not only that, it has the American flag and it's made in the USA. What better guarantee of quality is there? If it's American, you just know it's going to be perfect....like our first satellite in space. Uhm, never mind. That was obviously a bad example. Nothing to see here, move along please! Seriously though, Verdi-care did wonders on one of my Chinese coins. Removed a tiny spot of VD and it's not come back. Also helped a bronze I stupidly soaked in acetone. Looked dull afterwards, but a soak in Verdi-Care made it look almost 100% the way it used to before the acetone soak...and it's remained looking good for the past few months.
