1981 p dime any ideas

    1981 P dime the reverse whet E•Pluribus•Unum is the B and U are touching the torch plus all the letters seem to be scrunched together. Could this be an error? Or just damage. Thanks

    Possibly got stuck in a clothes dryer for some time and wore everything flat.
