Guess it's time to show what I like to collect.

Since I live in Hawaii, it's only fitting that I have Hawaii Coins. But not in the usual sense:

Seems alot of Hawaiian coins also met their fate with the Jewelers Torch. This letter opener is the latest addition to my small collection of Hawaii coins made into a number of items. I have a few pins, a pair of cufflinks, and i'm trying to grab a Belt Buckle that I found on sale at a Antique Shop (But at $3 grand, forget it. I'm mulling other options to get it.). All inspired by a story that I read in a Coin Book once.

wow! thats cool, sorta lol but it also really stinks! hawaiian coins have always held an interest with me. I guess becuase it is such an exotic place (to me anyway) and that just a short time ago, it was an independant self governing country. Countries with Kings ... i am just drawn to them lol

From my understanding, the Hawaiian Cents of 1847 were often placed over the eyes of the deceased.

Never heard of that one. If that were true, then my research at the Burial Council would turn that up in the records.

When you come up with a successful option for getting it without paying, please don't tell us how you did it - or even that you succeeded. We don't want to be charged with being accessories!
