I'm pretty sure they could fit into one or two of the USPS Priority flat rate boxes that are $8.95 a pop. all it takes is a good tape job and the box should hold up for transport, i know people that sell wheat cents ship in this manner.

Got $10 worth of nickels to go through at lunch. A couple of 59-D's and an 1868 Shield that looks to be in decent shape (VG-F).

With the matching doubling on the MM, I would think that was strike doubling.

If you ship IKES to anyone, use the Square Flat Rate Shipping box, tape all corners and box seams with reinforced packaging tape, and ship them registered mail with the value declared at 2x face value (value is in the eye of the beholder you know). Place the IKES in a canvas bag (or one of the disposable plastic bags that banks use to ship coins) inside the box (this is so when a greedy employee "Drops" the box hoping some of the coins come out, they all stay inside the box).

I can easily fit $1000 in Halves in a single square flat rate box, so I imagine that $1000 in IKES would also fit.

If you can find them. There are people that still cash them in, but usually only in small quantities.

Yeah, that's machine doubling (or whatever you want to call it), not a true doubled die.

In the Coinstar reject bin I found a 1918 Wheatie that is a solid VG grade.

And a hunk of broken jewelry that looks to be gold. ROFL......

Thanks! No pics yet, I'll try on Friday (Time crunch with the holidays and helping get our dormitories secured after the Airmen leave for the Holidays.)

I asked for some on Tuesday. I had one in my pocket to show the teller. She'd never seen one and of course didn't have any.

On a brighter note, I finally broke 1,000 40%/90% silver Kennedy halves found. I went through 2 boxes and got numbers 999, 1,000, and 1,001. It took just shy of 3 years. Now I can finally slow down my searching. :thumb:

    ...or maybe not.:D

    Speaking of 90%..........

I found a single roll of Halves from a Bank that usually has nothing. WHAT A ROLL. Out of 20 coins, 19 were 1964 90% Silver Halves!

    Eight 1964
    Eleven 1964-D
    One 1978-D

WOW.... I think I will scan these later, a couple are gems and are going into my Whitman.

Here is the kicker though, they were turned in with two more rolls and two rolls of IKEs. But they were gone by the time I got them.

    DAMMIT!

Girlfriend looked through 10 rolls of nickels today, could not believe she found a 1935 buffalo in great shape. Its was better than the one in my collection. Now I have to figure out how to get it back from her.

Keep trying, try other banks, you will find out who usually has the best.
