What would you grade this Jefferson?
I am not planning on sending it in any time soon or possibly ever.
    Just a fun exercise in grading. IMG_0003.JPG IMG_0001_1.JPG IMG_0002_1.JPG
    Please give an explanation.

Good lord look at those steps:jawdrop:

Im going to say 66+. Luster seems bright and of course that strike is wonderful. Im not sure I know enough about grading these to say 67 though.

The worn dies explain the booming luster. I'm there with @Evan8 on the grade range but I think the die state will hold it at MS66. MS66FS.

There is no doubt that this is at least a mid die state coin. The orange peel look can be found in multiple spots both obv and rev.

Pretty coin. I'm at 65 and maybe FS. The toning makes it tough for me to understand the coin. With different images, I could be at 66.

I am glad someone pointed that out, Leave it up to Mr. Nickel.
It is an RPM-004. This is the best I could get with my set up.
    D/D clockwise.
From what I have read, there is supposed to be a D over horizontal D. Have you seen one? This Variety is not acknowledged by some attributors?

I'm leaning towards full steps just not 100% but from the image darn close....if not.
    Nice coin for sure.

I'm guessing the lighting used when taking the picture has a lot to do with the darkness; especially considering the luster left.
