not a good time to take me for 'excactly' what i say. it was just an example. I think the one example i thought of was the BEP, and they had 2000 sets with a max of 20 per person. But the mint has also had alot of VERY bad limts placed. i was just using 1000 as an exaggeration (although not by much) Luckily, i have always been able to get everything i want, but i am unable to go after any of the higher priced coins or sets. But IMHO just because the set is expensive to begin with, doesnt mean a high per peson max should be set. All that does is make it so the casual collectors who can afford the itmes have to pay big money to dealers. I prefer smaller maximums for most items, this ensures the most fair distribution. after everyone has had a fair chance, they can bump or remove the maximums... just my opinion!
Hmm.. yeah, it's hard to tell fact from fiction with some of your posts. Thanks for clearing that one up.
not quite sure what that means, but whatever... IMO in a 'perfect' world, the mint would seemingly care more about the collectors who support it, then the dealers with deeper pockets. I dont know hard numbers, so i dont knwo if dealers by larger numbers of coins from the mint then individual collectors, but either way, without collectors, dealers would be out of jobs as well. In the end, who should the mint care more about? Who should the mint try to get the coins into the hands of? only an opinion ....
Very nice. I like the S$1 best, followed by the 50c. These designs do honor to The Real Thing. A Bald Eagle in the wild is quite a sight ! Amazing creatures.
thansk for the link :thumb: they have some very awsoem pictures of challenger there. would have bee great to see som eon a coin, but i think for the most part, they got some awsome designs for this commem! i will have to compare, i do think they were supposed to use challenger ad a modle.....
new commems i liked the fifty cents (half dollar) clad coin. i might buy a lot on this. overall, fifty cents were so few against the dollar.
