So, going over the pictures several times leads me to believe that this is the proper doubled die coin. I have compaired all of the markers and they match. Sorry the pictures don't show as good as on person. What y'all think? Also what about the second pillar over from the right? Is that more doubling? Rachel
The only thing in the provided photos I can make out with any level of confidence is what appears to be strike doubling on the I in AMERICA. Perhaps it's the photos or just me, or maybe a mix of the two. The 82 large date and other cents going back to the mid 70's are tough. The overall design, particularly the lettering was rather bulbous and makes identifying doubling much more difficult than on earlier issues with a more crisp design. Perhaps it would be wise to set such coins aside until better able to identify the different types of doubling and/or anomalies commonly encountered? Sorry that I cannot be of more assistance.
Miss RachelRuth..... I am not a cent errors guy at all so I usually don't respond to your threads. I do hope you find an awesome cent one day that will make everyone envious. I love your enthusiasm and posts. One day I know you are going to post that killer cent. Don't give up!
I won't give up! This coin is honestly more difficult to photograph than most of mine. I just compared the actual coin to the markers of the one on CC. They do match. I'll try cery hard to get a much better picture of this coin. I'm working on my setup for photos and it's a hit or miss right now. The lighting is troubling me. Any hints, tips or help is appreciated as always. Thanks y'all. Rachel
If wanting photo assistance, it would likely be helpful if you would list exactly what equipment you're using, what lights and how you're using them. Also, can you please post the link to the mentioned site?
The pictures below are from http://www.lincolncentresource.com/smalldates/1982.html Flipping back and fourth between your post and the LCR.com site is getting me cross eyed. The difference in thickness and the distance from the rim on the foot of the 2 is a suggested diagnostic. Good luck!
