Jwt708, Are you the one who is a dang fine danang photographer ? Seriously, thanks for the points, e.g. about the forum for tips. I'm still at the ABC level, but they say slow, but surely, wins the race.

Bert, Here is a link to a search on this site https://www.cointalk.com/search/3441186/?searchform=1&q=Photographing+coins&o=date
Here is what I use with either my Iphone or Ipad I have a camera app on the phone the free version it is called camera+ 10.11 it has some better basic settings then the regular I don't know if they have one for Android.
Here is a pic of my set up
    [IMG]
and a pick of the old bronze door knobs from a local school board that I make belt buckle out of.
I made up a number of backgrounds out of plastic corrugated cardboard and spray glued felt material to it. I use LED flashlights as fill lights. As jack said I edit the pics in phone, ipad app or if I want to do something more I use PhotoscapeX on the computer also the free version.

Haha I see what you did there! Numismatic photography can be it's own side hobby and can be lots of fun. Plus it gives us another opportunity to "play" with our coins.

There will be a coin show in Lafayette, Indiana on 20 May 2018. There will be
about forty tables. The location is at the DOUBLE TREE located at the junction of
26 and interstate 65. There will be one dealer who sells nothing but exonumia.
I will be there and would like to visit with any coin talk members.

Steve Hayden is selling many Indiana tokens from the estate of Rich Hartzog. I've been watching the ebay sales. Many are unlisted and many others are R-10. A note to him might find those two tokens. I didn't have them in my military tokens even before I sold off my main collection. I do have a mint Cunningham Military domestic issues that I would trade for a used Cunningham Overseas issues. My copy was destroyed in a flood in 2004 and I have not found a replacement yet. The majority of my token catalogs other than Indiana will be sold during the IKO-TAMS show in Ohio in October. I have not decided whether to put them in the auction or sell on my table. Depends on the commission they charge I guess. I specialized in Indiana after I moved here from Illinois in 1995. Primarily due to the abundance of finds here and the ease of selling for my family when my time comes. Nice meeting you. I'll have hundreds of POGs for trade at the Lafayette show.

This arrived today, there are 2 things I found out:
    1-it's a modern reproduction
2- it takes longer to get things from Armenia then from China porter 1-horz.jpg

Here are the ones I have. They came in a plastic frame to set on a desk or shelf. IMG_0001_2.JPG IMG_0002_2.JPG

yes. emails sent to him are answered by his brother saying that he passed away and the business is closed. IKO-TAMS says at least one dealer will be there selling items from his estate and Steve Hayden is selling modern and rare Indiana tokens from his estate.

If his website is still up no one is running it and it will probably go away when it is time to renew licenses. If there is something there you want to keep print it now.
At least some of the book inventory went to Steve Hayden and is being sold on ebay.

I haven't been on the hunt for quite a while, found this one at a pawn shop. I find it interesting that it is a 3/4-1 ton truck. IMG_0001_3.JPG IMG_0002.JPG

The big silver colored one is a medal in commemoration of the Royal Cremation Ceremony of H.M. King Bhumibol Adulyadej in 2017. Diameter 32 mm, weight 15 gm, metal cupro nickel, mintage 39,999,999.
